printer poop

The AMS (automatic material system) is a machine next to the printer that gives me the ability to print in multiple colors. I load up to 4 spools of different colors, brands, and even materials onto the AMS and let the printer do the rest. Whenever the printer needs to change colors, it will lift away from the print and move to a lever on the left side of the machine. It will push itself into the lever that will push a blade and cut the filament all on its own!!! it will then move over to its purge station on the right side of the machine. There it will reverse the extruder gears and push the filament out, but it still needs to clear the nozzle, so it will purge the filament in the nozzle onto a little basket below, then blasts the filament "poop" with its fan to cool, then sweeps it off into a mounted 3d printed basket that catches the poop. It will go through this process for every layer (every layer that requires a color change). This is why there will be a sizable price rise for multi-color prints, 2 different colors on a print at the halfway point? No problem, however, something like a camo pattern on a print will add hours and lots of waste to a print.
